My name is Pamela Kirkland and yes, both pictures are me. The first one was taken July 2005 and the second was taken June 2006. As a certified trainer and health-wellness coach I truly understand the perils to achieve natural weight loss, to eat healthier (while staying within a budget), burn fat, tone and reshape your body.
I was frustrated by numerous and I do mean numerous attempts to lose weight only to gain it back plus more.
With more and more fast food, and quick meal places popping up on a regular basis the ever growing problem of obesity in men, women and children will only continue.

Side note: My son and I decided to put the fast food issue to a test. What we found driving down Manchester Boulevard starting at Labrea and ending at Firestone and Zamora, we counted over 50 fast food places (mind you some had 3-4 on a corner) versus 8 grocery stores.
There are a few farmers markets available in the area but they are small, poorly advertised and not very accessible to those who would shop there.
And as a member of the baby boomer generation, as we continue to age (I mean get better), the need to take care of our health and well-being, the ability to maintain our quality of life will be an ongoing challenge.
Not to mention the reducing the burden an unhealthy lifestyle can place on our loved ones.

Avoid processed foods (foods in packages and bags) as much as possible. I know it’s hard but think about it.

Take a few moments before bedtime or take sometime in the middle of the day at break (taking your break is highly recommended-don't be a martyr) to breathe deeply and exhale deeply, it can have a calming effective on your immune system – which in turn can help you to relieve some stress.
